Austrian Airlines is the largest airline in Austria. It was founded in 1957, and the first flight was made in 1958.

It has a global network of 130 destinations in 55 countries; most are concentrated in Central and Eastern Europe where the company covers 41 destinations.

The Republic of Moldova has provided its services for the first time on May 31, 1999. Today the carrier serves 11 flights between Chisinau and Vienna.

The hub of the company is located in the heart of Europe and Vienna International Airport. Its location is very good being a very favorable starting point for both destinations to the East and the West.

However, it is part of the Lufthansa Group, the largest group of airlines in Europe, and a member of Star Alliance, the first global alliance of international airlines. The company is IATA and ICAO member.
